The good news is that the first good rains fell on the 3rd of November and we got a total of 117mm for the month. Every day the dull grey of the bush shows splashes of more green, like the invisible hand of an impressionist artist putting more green dots on a grey canvas. Game viewing was good and we even saw a cheetah on the 20th of this month. More elephants are returning and quite a few breeding herds are being seen at the moment. Highlights of the month: 2 November: Saw the Mother lion, 3 young males and Noengu Mafazi on a kudu kill. 11 November: Saw the 2 big male lions and the big female on foot with guests. True to form, Big Boy, the most dominant of the males charged at us. It is jokingly said by the Rangers that he made more men out of boys than Pamela Anderson ever did and he did not disappoint us this time and provided guests with a thrilling experience and some tall tales to tell. 13 November: Saw Big Boy and Kokwana mating. Saw Mazinyo and Noengu Mafazi mating. 20 November: Cheetah 21 November: Saw young male lions and 2 lionesses feeding on a Buffalo in the morning and then found the lions in the afternoon again just after they had killed another buffalo. 22 November: Saw a male leopard chasing 2 honey badgers. 23 November: Big Boy mating with a lioness. 26 November: Saw a lioness killing a warthog. I would also like to congratulate Gareth Johnson and Aoife O' Friel who got engaged at Pondoro on the 13 November 2008.
